Words on Wednesday

This week Words on Wednesday is brought to you by a favorite of mine, Dictionary.com and its “Word of the Day” feature.

Here are some of this past week’s gems:

foison, noun [foi-zuh n]: abundance, plenty

flumadiddle, noun [fluhm-uh-did-l]: utter nonsense [Dying to find a way to incorporate in an essay or my book. Love this word!]

telegnosis, noun [tel-uh-nohsis]: supernatural or occult knowledge

dragoman, noun [draguh-muh n]: (in the near East) a professional interpreter

Did you encounter any intriguing words when reading this past week? If you did, I’d love it if you shared them.
